Album & EP Visualizers

An art-direction system built first, then a different environment for every track, delivered on your release schedule.

A record is one body of work, and its visuals can be too. When visualizers are ordered one track at a time they tend to drift. A different palette here, a different type choice there, and by the last single the release stops looking like one thing. An album visualizer works the other way round, building the visual system first: an art-direction bible covering typography, colour, recurring motifs and the optical language, agreed before a frame is animated.

From there, every track gets its own environment and its own mood, drawn from that shared grammar and driven by its own stems. Production is staggered to your release calendar, so each visualizer arrives in time for its single while the bible keeps track twelve consistent with track one. The still side, cover, single art and packaging, can come from the same system.

The example is N U I T - Alt Real: twelve tracks, eleven lyric visualizers and one 3D motion piece, made alongside the album rollout. I have been making CG since 2006, freelance since 2012, and I work from Tokyo (GMT+9).

How a project runs

  1. Share the record and the release planThe tracks, the running order, the release dates, any visual identity already in place. A quote and a schedule come back within 48 hours, Tokyo time.
  2. Build the art-direction bibleTypography, palette, motifs and optical language, presented on stills. This is what every track is then built against.
  3. Approve the grammarOne shared system, signed off before track production starts.
  4. Produce track by trackEach visualizer gets its own environment from the shared grammar, driven by its stems, reviewed on a preview. Two revision rounds per track.
  5. Deliver on the release calendarMasters land ahead of each single. Cutdowns and packaging pieces on the same schedule.

Before you ask for a quote

How is this different from ordering JOURNEY twelve times?

Twelve JOURNEY visualizers commissioned one by one give you twelve videos with little connecting them. UNIVERSE builds one visual grammar first: typography, palette, recurring motifs, a consistent optical language. That grammar is then carried across the whole release with a different environment per track, so the record holds together as one body of work.

What is the minimum?

Four tracks. Below that, individual JOURNEY visualizers on the music visualizer page make more sense, because there is not enough of a release to justify a full art-direction pass.

We already have a visual identity for the record. Does that change the price?

Yes. If the cover, the palette and the type are already set, the art-direction fee can be reduced or waived and we go straight to per-track production built on your existing identity.

Can tracks be delivered as the singles roll out?

That is the normal way it runs. Production is staggered to your release schedule. Each visualizer lands in time for its single, and the art-direction bible keeps track eight consistent with track one even though they are made months apart.

Does every track have to look the same?

No. Every track gets its own environment and its own mood. What stays constant is the grammar underneath: the same typographic system, the same grading rules, the same way audio drives motion. The variety still reads as one world.

Can you also do the cover art and packaging?

Yes. Cover, single artwork, lyric booklet and motion packaging can all be built from the same art-direction bible, so the still and moving pieces of the release share one identity. See also brand identity.

Can I see one done?

N U I T - Alt Real: twelve tracks, eleven lyric visualizers and one 3D motion piece, built alongside the album rollout one release at a time. The case study walks through the system and every track.
